Gracie Combatives is a cycle of 23 self-defense classes that teaches the 36 most useful Brazilian Jiu Jitsu moves, so you can use them to defend yourself. You’ll learn the basics, then you’ll learn how to combine them to de-escalate fights when possible, and disable your attacker when necessary.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu consists of more than 600 moves that may be used in combination either in sparring or in self-defense. We’ve identified the moves that work the best in real combat and put them into one course.
The moves we teach are appropriate for beginners, but they also work at the highest levels of competition. In other words, what you learn in Gracie Combatives can be the basis for competition if that’s what you want.
Best of all, the moves we teach are designed to be combined to make them more effective. Once you’ve mastered them, you can move on to Reflex Development classes to learn how to combine them.

A Proven Structure That Works
Traditional martial arts classes require you to start at the beginning and attend every class to complete your training. We designed Gracie Combatives with convenience in mind.
The basic Gracie Combatives curriculum consists of 23, one-hour classes. In each class, you’ll learn one standing technique and one ground technique.
Best of all, you can start the cycle at any time. As long as you complete all 23 classes in the cycle, you can move toward earning your belt.
Start at Any Age or Fitness Level
One of the core requirements of any self-defense technique is that it should be useful whether you have a martial arts background or not – and whether you’re already in great shape or not.
The Gracie Combatives curriculum is a beginner curriculum. Even if you’ve never stepped on a mat before, you can start with any class and work your way through it.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu teaches you how to use your opponent’s body weight and momentum to defend yourself, so you can put the moves to work at any fitness level or age.
I love how welcoming everyone is as soon as you walk through the door! The atmosphere is so friendly and clean! The training I receive helps put into perspective what exactly I need to know when it comes to defending myself! I think it is also cool that they give you the opportunity to learn techniques with different the different weapons and gear! They also offer a women's only class which is very comforting especially if you are nervous about training in the first place! I can't wait to continue training with them in the hopes of receiving my black belt here!

The only thing you need is a traditional gi – the loose-fitting white top and pants that you’ve probably seen in other martial arts classes.
No. We’ve designed Gracie Combatives to work as a cycle. You can start with any lesson and cycle through the 23 lessons that make up the course.
No, you don’t need to prepare ahead of time. However, once you’re enrolled in Gracie Combatives, you’ll get free access to Gracie University, where you can watch videos of the techniques to be covered in class.
The bottom line is that this is about self-defense, not self-offense. Sometimes the fight comes to you whether you want it to or not. Gracie Combatives isn’t about being aggressive – it’s about getting out of dangerous situations.
